New Stuff

It's taken all weekend, but I finally have some new onesies and hanky dresses for my shop (see more pictures on my Flickr page). I'll try to get them up on Etsy later today, and then I'm going to start my wholesale order of bookplates for Honey Bunch - Yay!

Baby it's cold outside

I'm finding a few minutes in between albuterol, prednasone, and zithromax to make a few things. Yep, my son is sick again. He's got the same "restrictive airway" problem that landed him in the hospital two months ago. Luckily, we caught it quickly this time and we're treating him at home. Anyone that knows my son knows that the last thing Jackie needs is to be hepped up on steroids; he's the most boy a boy could be without the drugs, so just imagine...
What's especially funny is that this manly little boy has a new favorite color: pink. The lovely Ellie Richellie went ahead and made him a superhero cape for Christmas - it's black satin lined in, yep - pink fleece. And he LOVES it!
So, anyways, between treatments, I've found myself making more and more of these chocolate bar cozies like the ones that I spied at Anthropologie last month. I thought they'd be perfect gifts this season, so I made a few. And then a few more. And then some more. And suddenly, I've got all these:So if you're a friend, or a neighbor, or a member of supper club, or shoot...if I run into you on the street, well, Merry Christmas - cuz' this will be your stocking stuffer this year.

My Trunk, it Runneth Over

I had so much fun at the DIY Trunk Show last weekend, but I've been too crazy with unpacking my wares and hosting holiday guests to post the photos until now. No, the trunk show was not in my dining room, even though that's where I took these pictures. I set up my table ahead of time to make sure I had everything I needed, and these pictures look much better than those from the actual event. I was having a bad hair day and an even worse skin day, and I wouldn't want you to know how imperfect I am in real life. Anyways...
The folks over at Business POV shot a little movie about the show, and I couldn't figure out how I missed the "crew" while they interviewed all these people right in my area. Then I saw the camera pan across my booth (mostly obscured by - YAY! a shopper), and realized the problem: I was away on a potty break and my table was being manned by my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law's yawning (yes, yawning!) boyfriend. No wonder no one came to interview sweetjessie. Well, even if I'm not an indie film star, Faythe Levine of the Indie Craft Documentary wandered over to my table and especially liked one of my vintage schoolbook buttons, and that's good enough for me.

Sticky Fingers

So I've been woken up quite a bit lately by my four year old son, asking me things like, "Mom, don't you love goats?" Yes, Jack, I love goats! And did I mention it's 3:30 am?? Well then I can't get back to sleep because I start thinking about how much I love coffee, so I get up and make a (strong!) pot, and commence with the pre-dawn decoupaging. Good thing, too, because a lovely lady called me yesterday and ordered up all these goodies, so I'm packing them up and shipping them off to Denver tomorrow morning. Goodbye, lovelies, I'll miss you...

Ride 'em, cowboy!

I'm so busy I can hardly contain myself! Just finished two consignment orders and one wholesale order this month (yee-haw!!), and am trying to make some fun stuff for the DIY Trunk Show next month! I'm also packing up my house to get ready to relocate ten minutes south, managing Gracie and Lola, the two dogs (or "the gogs" as my four year old calls them), and trying to contain the energy of my two young-uns (now four and six, but my BABIES all the same!). Instead of folding laundry, however, I've spent all week cutting and organizing and copying and filing images from these great "Billy" books I just got, and am preparing to mod-podge to my hearts content in the following weeks...
