happy scraps
Posted by Jessie on 7.28.2010.I find it difficult to throw away even the tiniest fabric scrap when they're as pretty as these...
So I've been making tiny little things of out the tiniest little scraps...
Do you have any other suggestions for these sweet little scraps? Would you like some of them?
Leave a comment telling me what you'd do with them and I'll send one person a package of pretty little scraps next Monday!

Sorry friends, I know I'm almost a week behind. I won't bore you with excuses :)
I'm going to send the pack of happy scraps to a fellow Midwestern Sewing Girl.
Have a lovely week!

I would love some of the scraps.
I would use them for the front of cards to send off, or to make tiny dresses for paper dolls.:)

CUTE! Love the fairy bunting. I wonder if you could work out some way to attach them to paperclips to make little place markers or book "flags" - much prettier than post-its!
7:02 PM
ooooooo, love them! I would cut a bunch up into tiny leaves and make a garland. Oh! Orrr... string a few single leaves on bits of wire and twist them onto little branches in a vase for my table. Possibilities are endless! I really enjoy your photos and ideas, thanks for sharing...

Oh, how darling! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!! I would use some in my scrapbooking...and I also like to use small little scraps cut into different shapes to add to my kids clothes to give them a one-of-a-kind feel...

i would use them to make my 'scrappy patches' go here: http://jessicaloughrey.blogspot.com/2010/05/scrappy-heart-patches.html to see some of the ones i've made so far. and i looove what you did with your scraps, especially the teeny tiny bunting! too cute.

i love your mini fairy banner. i have a stamp of a cupcake, wouldn't it be adorable to make a little flag ((like the one you stuck into the cupcake)) and adhere it to a card ((with the cupcake stamp)) !!! inspirational.

I use my tiny scraps to make cards with bunting sewn on - you can see my most recent one here on my blog: http://miss-print.blogspot.com/2010/07/illusion-is-first-of-all-pleasures.html
I would love to win your mini scraps!

Oh, wonderful! I'd use them for borders and to make flowers with for my visual journal. I'm thinking they'd be great on a journal cover! Or, bettery yet on a journal book cover. I'd love to win...so much fun!

This little bitty banner is adorable! I do use little scraps -- I glue stick them all down onto a base fabric and then stitch over it all randomly. Then you have new, thicker, super cool fabric :)

i have the exact same problem, so i make these:

Cute ideas! I can never get rid of fabric scraps either... I just know I could come up with some way to use them. I would use some to decorate cute little gift tags or attach the bunting to notecards for a lovely little surprise in someone's mailbox.

Very cute little banners!!! I just found your blog by accident and this was the 1st post I saw. I just had to share kind of a cute story about my son - he's 7 years old and considers himself to be an artist (which I totally encourage) but this post reminded me of him & I'll have to show him this when I get home tonight - you see, he's on a "banner kick" right now and has made several little banners that he wants to sell on ETSY - I don't really know why I felt the need to share that other than your post reminded me of Jimmy.

Darling bunting! Love it!
I can't let go of scraps, either! I bought some circular magnets and circular clear glass tiles with the intent of layering some fabric in between the two for cute vintage fabric magnets.
Cheers! : )

That tiny bunting is so sweet, if you have too many small scraps why not do a scrap swap - I use tiny bits in my applique work and always want different colours / prints, maybe we could all share our scraps?
