Most of my favorite holiday items are pink, and I don't really even bother putting out all the rest of the boxes and boxes of ornaments and knickknacks I've got stashed in my basement in those oversize red and green plastic tubs.  I just recently read somewhere that if every piece of holiday decor isn't a joy to unpack each year, you should give it away, so that it might be a joy for someone else to have at the holidays.  I donate tons of stuff to Goodwill all the time, but this gave me a fresh perspective on all of those crazy things I've been hanging on to in my basement; the things I just felt guilty about giving away.  I'm going to set aside some time during this holiday break to clean out that basement!  The beauty above, however, is staying with me.
