tiny pieces + moleskine journals = love

Posted by Jessie on 9.09.2008.

They're not pieced together -I just laid out the bits of fabric in a pleasing pattern and sewed them right onto the journal in a log-cabinny kind of way (down one row, turn the corner with the needle down, sew across, turn, up another row, etc...). I like the raw edges of the fabric scraps. And I still have hundreds more of them. What else should I make?

    I love these. I could sit and look at those tiny bits of fabric all day.

    JC Handmade recently did magnets with tiny pieces, have you seen those?

    Those are gorgeous! Makes me want to go straight to my scrap basket and cut out little squares!

    I pieced some scraps together and made a bookmark you can see here:

    I saw something recently similar to your journals, but they were note cards.

    Love!!! I suddenly have the desire to stitch on all of my dissertation Moleskines...

    You could make thumbtacks from covered buttons - just cover the buttons normally, then remove the tang (that is what the little loop in the back is called, right? Am I just making that up?), and glue on a thumbtack. You will have the cutest bulletin board in town.

    these are beautiful - I love the raw edges!

    I was going to suggest bookmarks too...& I've been thinking about how to incorporate my scraps into jewelry but haven't come up with any concrete ideas yet so I'd love to see what you might come up with that I could copy! {I'm so lazy!}
