Tootsie's Quilt (finished)

Well, the quilt is finally finished! You can read about the WIP here.

My fingers are like raw little sausages from binding the quilt by hand, but I think it was worth it. I also hand embroidered my name and the year 2008 on it.

For the binding, I patched together random lengths of all of the fabrics I used in the quilt, and used an iron to fold in the edges. I didn't cut the fabric on the bias, so it's not actual "bias tape" but I didn't need to round any corners - I mitered them. In the end, I had enough of my binding left over to tie around the quilt and into a bow. I hope my mom likes it.

What fun things are you working on this week??

The quilt is beautiful! I'm sure she'll love it. I just finished a bag set for my Aunt, and want to start on some pants for my kids. Hey, maybe I'll even make some for myself!

That is lovely! The colors all look amazing together.

I'm on break this week, so today I'm working on cleaning up my craft room and stitching up a new iPod cozy. I just love days off!

So pretty! Your mom is going to love. Q's got a handmade blankie with chenille on the inside, and it's so cozy. Per usual, everyone is making me look bad and being all ambitious. :) What am I working on this week? Not going insane while my mother in law is here watching Q while her daycare is closed. Whoo hoo! xo

The quilt is gorgeous. The fabrics are so vibrant but not crazy-bright. Really beautiful job. And I like the backing as well...it looks so cozy!

I'm sure your mom is going to love it.

Working on this week? Unfortunatly, work...yuck. I tend to do most of my crafting over the weekend.

What a beautiful quilt! I love it.

I should be working on burp cloths and appliqued onesies I am making for a baby shower in two weeks. But I probably won't get it started until last minute.
